Hannah is a project manager and communications director with over 10 years’ experience in the arts, education, public and private sectors. Originally from London, now living in West Yorkshire, Hannah is an innovative problem solver and entrepreneurial creative communicator. Hannah is a CIM qualified marketer who runs her own business devising digital strategy, designing websites, and managing online content for creative practitioners. She founded The Content Managers in 2015 to provide marketing and business development to people in the creative industries.


I adapt and work effectively with a range of situations, individuals or groups. I am able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives, have a flexible approach as the requirements of a situation, and support others to change or easily accept changes in their creative practice, organisations and job roles.


Dec 2016 to Present: Change Makers Associate (ACE), The Art House. Delivery of a ground-breaking leadership and development programme, producing two ambitious projects, working with artists to develop new work in collaboration with The Hepworth and other national partnering organisations. Research on an international scale to inform the creation of an innovative new model for peer-led development for artists from a diverse range of backgrounds and with a variety of needs.

Dec 2014 to Present: Founder, The Content Managers. Assist creative businesses with digital content management from marketing strategy, website design and maintenance, PR to social media management. Develop creative marketing opportunities for creative practitioners to grow audiences.

Mar 2016 to Sep 2016: Marketing Manager, IOU, Halifax. Management of the Future/Past 40th anniversary events, including developing website content, social media and email updates, design production and dissemination of printed collateral, evaluation and data analysis. Delivered the marketing and communications strategy for opening of new IOU, gallery and workshop.

Mar 2014 – Sep 2015: Business Support Programme Manager, The Art House, Wakefield. Developed the Business Support programme as an exciting and high-profile resource for creative practitioners in the region. Created evaluation framework for monitoring and reporting to funders. Trained artists in a range of business activities, including business planning, target setting, social media management, marketing and financial management.

Jan 2013 to Mar 2014: Business Centre Manager, Kirklees Youth Enterprise Centre, Huddersfield. Established the KYEC as a hub for youth enterprise, bringing together young entrepreneurs, aged 14 to 16, with experienced business professionals and helping young people set up, market and run their own business.

July 2007 to Dec 2012: Communications Director, Housing Diversity Network, Huddersfield. Responsibility for marketing membership services, devising and managing robust and effective ICT systems and communication tools, including elearning products; PR and marketing communications and financial sustainability. I managed HDN training events and conferences in partnership with the CIH.

Apr 2006 – Jul 2007: Network Development Consultant, Arts Council England. Successfully tendered for the contract to act as a freelance development consultant for carnival artists and organisations across the Yorkshire Region.

Apr 2006 – Jul 2007: Creative Team Coordinator, CragRats Ltd. Coordinated the marketing and production of all training events with Directors, Senior Management Team, Peripatetic staff and the Creative Team.

May 2004 – Apr 2006: Project Manager Creative Keys, The Culture Company. Delivered a £1.3m ERDF creative arts programme for an independent cultural agency, and was invited onto the board of the Culture Company at the end of the project.

Oct 1999 – Jun 2004: Business Manager, Gateway School of Recording and Gateway Studio. Responsible for the development of the strategic direction and transition of company to charitable Trust company, incorporating marketing and promotion of services to customers. I managed the school, staff team, peripatetic teaching teams and engineers in addition to managing the relationship with Kingston University.
